ABOUT ABOUT

Join us for a very special night of original music!

Krista Baroni is a Boston based folk singer/songwriter with a focus on honest and lyrical songwriting.

Drawing inspiration from contemporary folk artists (Josh Ritter, Laura Marling, Gillian Welch), and singer/songwriters from the 60's and 70's (Joni Mitchell, Cat Stevens, Simon and Garfunkel), Krista combines her love of Folk, Classic Rock and Americana with her passion for poetry and prose.

In September 2012, Krista released her first full length album Oh My Magpie.

Written and recorded over a two year period at Hollow Body Studios in Boston Massachusetts, the record is a ten track collection of thoughtful, melodically and lyrically driven songs. Produced by Hollow Body Studios owner and fellow singer/songwriter Doug Kwartler, the songs are supported by acoustic, and often sparse arrangements. The album flirts with hints of Americana, Blues, Bluegrass, and Rock, but finds it’s roots firmly planted in the Folk genre.

In the past year Krista has been privileged to perform at The Middle East in Cambridge, Newbury Comics -Record Store Day, and opened for Indie/Folk musician Ari Hest at The Amazing Things Arts Center in Framingham Massachusetts.
